Craig Bentley
Principal
Craig Bentley is an executive coach and senior communications consultant. Prior to joining Bates Communications in 2007, Craig was a principal at a Boston-area management consulting firm, working closely with CEO’s and business owners on strategy development and implementation.
Craig is a sought-after business consultant, financial expert, and speaker. His thirty years of experience in domestic and international financial markets, banking, business development, and strategic planning provide his clients with a diverse, strategic perspective to leadership communications.
Earlier in his career, Craig was the founder and principal of Bentley Financial Group, a specialized consulting practice. He has also served as a Senior Officer and a Managing Director in Treasury at Bank of Boston, where he directed three operating divisions and played an active role in strategic and financial planning, management of risk trading and capital markets product distribution, development and implementation of technology strategies, and new product development. He also previously held management positions at Citibank (Amsterdam) and Harris Bank (Chicago and Paris).
Craig has been active in a number of professional organizations and served as a member of the Foreign Exchange Committee of the New York Federal Reserve Bank. He has lectured at universities, seminars, and industry conferences domestically and abroad. He lived in Europe and Asia for over 10 years and has conducted business and traveled extensively in over 65 countries.
Active in his community, Craig is a Board Member and past President of WorldBoston, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving global understanding through increased contact between the citizens of Greater Boston and emerging and established leaders from around the world. He played a leadership role in the 2002 merger of WorldBoston and the World Affairs Council of Boston, which created one of the largest international affairs organizations in the city. Craig is also a Director and member of the Executive Committee of the Wellesley Community Center, and serves on the Board of Mass ReLeaf, which plants hundreds of trees annually in Massachusetts’ urban areas.
Craig holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies
from Dartmouth College, and attended the graduate School of Business
at the University of Chicago. He resides in the Greater Boston
area with his wife and two children.
