Communication Style

A commanding presence is an essential part of the leadership package. Body language, voice, facial expression, gestures, and movement all contribute to how effective a leader is in both formal and informal settings. Videotaping and coaching on communication style is an effective way to help leaders build confidence and project authenticity.

Personal Assessment

The program begins with assessments and goal setting, through:

  • Personal history interviews
  • Conversations about goals and timelines
  • Interviews with colleagues/mentors
  • 360 feedback report about communication strengths and needs
  • Videotaped assessment of a presentation (formal or informal)
Following this initial assessment, the coach works to set goals and create a customized action plan. This plan becomes the roadmap for leaders to develop into powerful speakers.

Program Requirements

Leaders typically engage the coach for a six-month or one-year program, meeting a minimum of once a month for a 3 hour session. We work in real time on projects such as meetings, presentations, conferences, and appearances.

Sessions are scheduled in advance for the duration of the coaching so that clients can set aside the time and make it a priority. The coach meets for extra sessions whenever there is a major event coming up.

Accountability

We work in partnership with the organization every step of the way. We meet with the client and his or her team to review goals and action plans, and touch base periodically to review progress.
