Speak Like a CEO

If you want to make it BIG in business, then you must present BIG ideas. In Speak Like a CEO: Secrets for Commanding Attention and Getting Results, award-winning television news anchor and executive speech trainer Suzanne Bates cautions us that a BIG idea has little to do with the length of a presentation, but everything to do with its power.
In "Thinking on Your Feet" (Chapter 11), Bates advises readers how to project a relaxed presence in even the most challenging situations. She describes two ways to "trigger" your brain to answer tough questions effectively. In her first trigger method, you begin your answer with a pre-determined statement.
Bates says that this approach "works like magic," and I would have to agree; I tried her method several times, and it worked perfectly for me every time. I can't do justice to this concept in a short review, but trust me – this one chapter is worth the price of the book.
