Drew Yanno, Vice President and General Counsel
Drew Yanno is responsible for the day-to-day operations, including administration, finance, HR, technology, and legal at Bates. He is a member of the leadership team that sets and executes the firm’s strategy. He leads the administrative team and vendor partnerships, operating the group as a shared service function that supports sales and client management, scheduling, logistics and project management. He partners with Executive Services, Client Experience, Leadership Programs and Partnerships to deliver on Bates promise to clients with speed, efficiency and effectiveness.
Prior to joining Bates, Drew co-founded and managed a Boston-based law firm where he was responsible for operations, people and processes. He specialized in commercial litigation, real estate and business advisory. While practicing law, he became Professor in the Boston College Carroll School of Management, where he taught Introduction to Business Law. After pursuing a writing career, he also was employed by major entertainment companies to write screenplays. He has published two novels, and two highly regarded how-to books on screenwriting. Drew founded the first screenwriting program at Boston College, which sent many graduates to careers in New York and Hollywood.
Drew’s passion for business management extends back to growing up in a family that owned a privately-held distributorship for Anheuser-Busch in New York State. He ran the business for a time, and managed a successful transition sale to a strategic buyer.
