Sarah Woods is the Head of Office for BTS Boston, a global firm that improves the performance of organizations through communicative leadership. Bates partners with executives and their teams through advisory services that shape how leaders engage and align the organization to drive results. The firm works with some of the world's most influential organizations, including over 40 companies on the Fortune 500.

Sarah leads major client relationships and provides advisory and consulting to boards, CEOs and their teams, and provides oversight for the office and our business targets.

Prior to this role, Sarah was Senior Vice President of Global Consulting, partnering with over 200 executive-level clients in one-on-one coaching and advisory services as well as facilitating team effectiveness. She is renowned for her ability to develop strong, productive partnerships, offering real-world business experience and a deep desire to advance clients’ critical imperatives.

Expertise and Credentials

Prior to joining Bates Communications in 2007, Sarah spent over 20 years as a sales/marketing leader within global businesses, start-ups, and consultancies. Sarah was the SVP of Planning and Operations for a successful online retailer where she led a virtual team in three countries in the development and launch of a patented e-retail program. As a sales leader at a global manufacturing company, Sarah led the post-acquisition integration of four independent corporate sales teams and distributors, to ultimately drive a 100% increase in revenue performance. She has served on the leadership teams of multiple start-up companies, consulting to CEOs on communicating key value messages and developing corporate sales strategy. 

Sarah is certified in Bates proprietary coaching and consulting methodologies, including the Bates ExPI, the first and only research-based, scientifically validated assessment to measure executive presence and influence. In addition, she is certified in the Hogan HPI, HDS, and MVPI leadership assessments.

A dynamic keynote speaker and thought leader, Sarah has been quoted in dozens of publications including The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, The Chicago Tribune, Business Review USA and The Standard. She has authored multiple articles, white papers and special reports for Bates Communications, including a popular white paper on “Managing Transformational Change: How Leaders Can Avoid Organizational Paralysis” and an executive insights report titled “Align, Inspire, and Move People to Act: A Formula for Accelerating Team Performance.”
